Terms of Service

Important: these are draft SaaS terms for launch preparation. They are not a substitute for legal review, particularly once pricing, subscriptions and the contracting business entity are finalised.
1. The service
In The Middle provides software for customer records, invoice creation, CIS/VAT-related invoice calculations, PDF documents, payment tracking and transactional invoice or receipt emails.
2. Accounts
Users are responsible for keeping sign-in credentials secure, providing accurate account and business information, and promptly notifying us if they believe their account has been compromised.
3. Your business and customer data
You retain responsibility for information you enter into the service, including customer details, invoice content, bank details, tax identifiers and payment records. You must have the right to use that information and must not use the service for unlawful, misleading or fraudulent activity.
4. Invoice and tax calculations
The service is designed to assist with invoicing workflows, including CIS and VAT-related fields. It is not tax, legal or accounting advice. Users remain responsible for checking invoices, tax treatment, deductions, records and filings before relying on or sending them.
5. Email delivery
When you choose to send an invoice or receipt, the service may use a third-party transactional email provider. Delivery can be affected by recipient systems, spam filtering, domain configuration and provider availability, so successful submission does not guarantee that every message will be read.
6. Online card payments
Where enabled, card checkout is provided through Stripe. A business may be required to connect and maintain its own eligible Stripe account. Stripe controls payment authorisation, settlement, verification, disputes and other regulated payment functions. Users remain responsible for checking the payment status and handling refunds, disputes or overpayments appropriately.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and reliable, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Features may be changed, improved or withdrawn where reasonably necessary for security, legal, technical or product reasons.
8. Acceptable use
You must not attempt to bypass security controls, access another business’s data, interfere with the service, upload malicious material, use the service for fraud, or use it in a way that violates applicable law or another person’s rights.
9. Fees and subscriptions
If paid plans are introduced, pricing, billing periods, taxes, cancellation and renewal terms should be presented clearly before purchase. The final public terms must be updated to reflect the actual subscription model before charging customers.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service should not be relied on as the sole source of tax, accounting, legal or financial advice. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Final liability wording should be reviewed once the contracting entity and customer type are confirmed.
11. Ending use of the service
Users may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, suspected misuse, non-payment under a future paid plan, or legal requirements. Final account-deletion and data-export procedures should be documented before public launch.
